Pre-selected Mechanics Training of China's 40th Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team Successfully Ended at LVTC

From News Center (Text by Chen Lichuang, Zhu Enzhou, School of Automotive Engineering; Photo by Chen Dong, School of Automotive Engineering) On March 17, 2023, the loader maintenance skills training for pre-selected mechanics of China's 40th Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team was successfully completed in "LiuGong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center" in LVTC. Peng Zhifeng, a national skill master from Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., the school-enterprise partner of School of Automotive Engineering, was the keynote professor of this training activity.

It is said that the training for pre-selected mechanics of Antarctic scientific expedition aims to provide technical skills training support for personnel in logistics positions in winter for the 40th Antarctic scientific expedition. The training lasted 5 days. Four high-level skilled talents selected by Liugong and XGMA (Xiamen XGMA Machinery Company Limited.) participated in the training. They will be selected as the final team members of the Antarctic expedition based on the comprehensive evaluation results.

This training is divided into three parts: theory, practical operation and assessment. The training contents include construction machinery hydraulic system, electrical system, transmission system principle and fault items, complete machine maintenance items, engine and transmission principle and fault items, etc. During the training, the trainees earnestly studied with high attitude and full enthusiasm, continuously improved their knowledge and skills, and fully demonstrated the high-level professional quality of mechanics pre-selected for national scientific investigation.

In recent years, LVTC has continued to deepen the school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration relationship with Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. With the platform of LiuGong - LVTC Global Customer Experience Center, LVTC has jointly established a school-enterprise mixed teaching team of "double-lecturers". The college also has actively built a talent chain, expanded training chain, and focused on serving the national polar scientific research cause. It has undertaken several batches of vocational skills training tasks for engineering machinery maintenance of pre-selected mechanics for Antarctic scientific research teams. LVTC will continue to give full play to the advantages of vocational education, continuously promote the efficient integration of industry and education, and gradually form a new situation of school-enterprise cooperation featuring the co-construction of majors, co-education of talents, co-management of processes, resource sharing, and responsibility sharing.
